When you bring two SMH hatted restaurants, a NSW Tourism Award Winner and a restaurant that Gourmet Traveller said brought quintessential seaside dining to the area, you have an evening of culinary delights ahead of you!
Willinga Park are the proud hosts of the next South Coast Food Alliance event, being held on Friday 27th of October. Guests will enjoy exquisite canapes delivered by each restaurant followed by four courses that each of the chefs has designed especially for the event without having to get up from the table!
The evening will be situated in Willinga Park’s award-winning covered arena with tables on the arena surface giving guests a front row seat to the night’s entertainment. Throughout the evening world-class dressage riders Robbie and David Mckinnon will be putting on a training demonstration followed by a demonstration of their freestyles, dressage choreographed to music.
Robbie Mckinnon is a FEI Grand Prix Dressage Rider, and NCAS Level 1 coach. Robbie has been successful as a young dressage rider and show horse rider. She started professional riding when she came back from a training trip to Germany in 2007. She has since trained and competed a number of horses at all levels of dressage from local competitions to National and international level. She was a member of the youth Olympic dressage team and has been on the state and national dressage squads for almost 10 years. She has also had a lot of success competing in the Arabian ring and the open show ring on a number of horses, as well as a National and Grand National Champion rider.
David Mckinnon is a FEI Dressage Rider and NCAS level 1 coach. David started his dressage career after leaving school and beginning work at Woodside stables here in Bowral. He then trained with top Dressage rider Brett Parbery for a few years before beginning Mckinnon Sport Horses. The South Coast Food Alliance patron Rick Stein said that “the purpose of it is to share our enthusiasm for good food and cooking and the great produce, particularly seafood, of this area”.
Together they have crafted a menu which will include canapés plus a four course meal with paired beverage service for $250pp. All four restaurants have seasonally focused menus incorporating the best locally sourced produce whenever possible and this will be reflected in the Spring-inspired menu. Each course has been paired with the perfect wine to ensure the dinner has every aspect covered.
