Amanda Bond on ‘Dressage Development’

“Achieving success on the world stage is not easy. It not only relies on talented horses and athletes but also impeccable planning and correct support structures; and often some luck too!” says Amanda.

Amanda’s presentation will share her experiences gained leading British Dressage through their journey to becoming Olympic and Paralympic champions in 2012, as well as helping develop the small nation of Hong Kong.

Amanda has a wealth of equestrian experience. During her time as CEO of British Dressage, Great Britain became Olympic and Paralympic Champions and amassed a total of 14 medals for dressage in London 2012. Amanda is the current Chair of the FEI Para-Equestrian technical committee, was Technical Delegate for Rio 2016 and has been part of the organising team for the three previous Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In 2014, Amanda joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club where she oversees their elite performance programme, which prepares international riders and horses representing Hong Kong in major championships. Additionally, Amanda and her team run a retraining programme, which aims to give retired racehorses meaningful second careers in the equestrian industry.

“I am extremely passionate about developing equestrian sport, both at participation and elite levels so speaking at the FEI Forum is very exciting. The Forum has an amazing group of speakers from around the world. I know it will be an important event for not only Australia but the greater region.”

Amanda will be speaking at the FEI Forum on Tuesday 25th.
