Willinga Park to host Batemans Bay's Sculpture on Clyde
Willinga Park will partner with Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber to host the 2018 Sculpture on Clyde event, an exhibition and competition attracting local and international artists.
The entirety of the outdoor sculpture collection in the event will be showcased alongside the existing 22 sculptures at Willinga Park – around half an hour north of Batemans Bay.
In addition, indoor sculptures will be displayed in the heritage Guy Francis Building overlooking the Clyde river in Batemans Bay.
As a lover of art, Terry Snow said he is pleased to host the event at Willinga Park.
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to be a part of the local art scene,” Snow said.
“Art adds a piquancy to the wonderful rural scenery, and I very much look forward to seeing the new sculptures on the Willinga Park landscape for this event.”
The Sculpture on Clyde event is the brainchild of the Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber. Now in its second year, the event offers $60,000 in prizemoney and is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the region.
Chamber President David Maclachlan said the organising committee is thrilled to welcome Willinga Park as a venue for the event.
“The inclusion of Willinga Park in our sculpture event is a very exciting development and we look forward to hosting wonderful new sculptures and welcoming art lovers from far and wide,” Maclachlan said.
Sculpture on Clyde runs 25 August to 2 September 2018. Visitors are welcome to attend a unique opportunity to browse the event sculptures alongside the Snow’s personal collection.
