Supporting the Next Generation of Horse Owners
Building stronger connections with our local horse community is an important part of the work we do at Willinga Park Vet Hospital.
We recently welcomed members of Turlinjah Park Pony Club and Cobargo and District Pony Club for a behind-the-scenes visit designed to make equine health care more familiar, practical and accessible for young riders.
Dr Zazy Walsh and Reanna Letts guided the group through the hospital, introducing them to the different areas of the facility and the role each plays in caring for horses. The riders also learned how to carry out a basic health check, what changes to look for and when it may be time to seek veterinary advice.
The visit gave the group the opportunity to ask questions directly, build their confidence around horse health and see what happens inside a working equine hospital.
By opening the hospital to local clubs and young riders, we hope to support greater knowledge, confidence and connection across the South Coast horse community. It was a pleasure to welcome the group and share a day centred on learning, horses and the people who care for them.
