Dressage by the Sea 2017

31 January 2018

Below are 6 exciting chapters capturing the drama that unfolded at Willinga Park’s ‘Capricorn Australia Dressage by the Sea’ CDI in 2017.

Meet some of the top Australian riders. Follow them behind the scenes as they prepare for and compete in the Grand Prix Freestyles (dressage choreographed to music).  You will be amazed at the work that goes on to make the event a success.  During the episode you will hear from the riders, judges, volunteers, and spectators. Learn from some of the big players in the competition, such as  Brett Parbery and Heath Ryan, who will help you gain a greater understanding of the sport of dressage.  You will fall in love with newcomer Shannan Goodwin and her first dressage horse ‘Aristede’ on their quest to take on the best in the sport.  You will be mesmerized by the pure elegance and grace of these beautiful warmblood horses.

There’s never been such an event held in the South Coast region before. It was internationally recognised by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). There is only one other dressage event of this ranking in NSW, (in Sydney), and only a handful across Australia. The 99 competitors included the best in the sport from Australia, travelling from as far as Northern Queensland and Victoria’s Mornington Peninsular.  Spectators enjoyed the architecture, botanic gardens, gourmet food and equine experience.
